Rema Raman, a professor of neurology at Keck School of Medicine of USC and the director of Biostatistics and Recruitment at ATRI, recently published an op-ed in the San Diego Tribune that looks at how Alzheimer's Disease can impact a families life and how creating a plan can ease the stress.
"As your care team is being built, be specific with your desires and what help may be needed. Join them in activities like shopping or preparing meals. Choose someone you respect and follow your wishes and preferences. Sometimes it may be necessary to have different individuals make decisions on your health care and your financial needs. Above all, find individuals who have demonstrated patience, understanding, and good listening skills."
