What is brain donation? 

Many Americans plan to donate their organs for transplants or their bodies for medical science. Few realize there's a growing need for their brains, too. 

Brain donations differs from regular organ donation in that the brains are only used for research purposes. Scientists use donated brains to better understand the pathology of neurological diseases and furthermore how said diseases can be treated and prevented.
