Michael Rafii Named #1 Down syndrome Researcher Worldwide for Sixth Consecutive Year

The USC Epstein Family Alzheimer's Therapeutic Research Institute (ATRI) proudly announces that Dr. Michael Rafii has once again been ranked as the world's leading researcher in the field of Down syndrome, according to ScholarGPS. This prestigious recognition reflects the quantity, impact, and quality of Dr. Rafii's scientific contributions to understand alzheimer's disease in people with Down syndrome, as measured by citations and h-index. 

Dr. Rafii has maintained this top position for six consecutive years, underscoring his unwavering commitment to advancing research and improving care for this high-risk population. As MEdical Director of ATRI and Professor of Clinical Neurology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, Dr. Rafii focuses on developing effective treatment for Alzheimer's disease, particularly the genetic form that occurs in people with Down syndrome.
