KSOM faculty named to Highly Cited's most influential researchers

Multiple faculty members from the Keck School of Medicine of USC have been named to the 2020 list of Highly Cited Researchers by Clarivate Analytics, recognizing their status as being among the world’s most influential in their fields.

Here’s the list of KSOM researchers, many of whom have multiple appointments and across USC. 

  • Paul Aisen, MD, professor of neurology, and director of the USC Alzheimer’s Therapeutic Research Institute.
  • Steve A. Kay, PhD, Provost Professor of Neurology, Biomedical Engineering and Biological Sciences.
  • Huaiyu Mi, MD, PhD, associate professor of research preventive medicine.
  • Abhay Sagare, PhD, assistant professor of research physiology and neuroscience.
  • Paul D. Thomas, PhD, professor of preventive medicine.
  • Arthur Toga, PhD, Provost Professor of Ophthalmology, neurology, psychiatry and the behavioral sciences, radiology and engineering, and director of the USC Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute.
  • Zhen Zhao, PhD, assistant professor of physiology and neuroscience.
  • Berislav Zlokovic, MD, PhD, chair and professor of physiology and neuroscience, and director of the Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute.

According to Clarivate, the list “identifies researchers who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. Their names are drawn from the publications that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science citation index.”

USC placed 19 researchers on the list.
