Alzheimer’s disease is not only a critical public health issue — it’s also a growing concern for our workforce and our economy. In San Diego and Imperial County alone, more than 60,000 people are currently living with Alzheimer’s.

The USC Alzheimer's Therapeutic Research Institute (ATRI)  is proud to support the Alzheimer's Association.

Join us while we host the Alzheimer’s Association San Diego/Imperial Chapter's Annual Business Breakfast: Impact of Alzheimer’s on the Workplace, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 8:00–9:30 AM at USC ATRI, 9860 Mesa Rim Rd, San Diego, CA 92121.

ATRI is a major academic institute of USC, employing over 200 people in San Diego. Though based in San Diego, we are conducting clinical research throughout the United States, and have played a vital role in validating the new blood test for Alzheimer's Disease and the recently approved medications that remove amyloid from the brain. We are working on new treatments for AD in people with Down Syndrome, testing new medications with different mechanisms, and engaging in studies for preventing dementia from starting in people with normal memory but with amyloid in their brain.
